recently began bowling weekly, wrist hurts to lift or bend down. pain is becoming unbarable. should i see someone? any suggestion on what to do?

Wrist pain: Sounds like you may have overuse tendonitis.  Although many things can cause wrist pain.  If you rest and take nsaids for few days along with icing the area 20 minutes 3 times a day and it is not improved i would beging with your primary care provider.

i have wrist pain that happens every time i use them too much, i used to do gymnastics and they always hurt then but the doctor i saw said there was nothing wrong. they literally hurt when i go bowling now, did i do something to mess them up?

: If you hurt then there is definitely a reason. Sometimes repetitive strain of tendons (tendonitis) can do it See another MD or Orthopedic doctor who will listen to your problem examine you and treat you better. Good luck

Poor equipment fit: This obviously could be something else but the most likely reason is poor fitting equipment. Have you had the holes in your bowling ball professionally assessed? Try that.
Sore wrist is common if you are trying to put spin on the ball and if the ball is too heavy. 
Try wrist guards and a lighter ball.

Try a wrist splint : If you do not have a obvious deformity, no broken skin, and does not have lots of swelling and black &amp; blue around your wrist, you do not need to worry yet. The soft tissue injuries are more often than fracture. You can try to put on a wrist splint, use heating pad, rest your hand on a pillow at night. See a doctor if not better in a week.

These small cystic benign not harmful structures can cause discomfort with motion and often are overlooked as you need to know where to look for it. ( scapholunate region). For a year of wrist pain certainly get evaluated as there are many conditions, an exam and x-rays helps many.
