Wrist pain: Sounds like you may have overuse tendonitis. Although many things can cause wrist pain. If you rest and take nsaids for few days along with icing the area 20 minutes 3 times a day and it is not improved i would beging with your primary care provider.

Yes, get a hand exam: New activities can put stress on ligaments or muscles that you have not used before, resulting in stiffness, pain and changes in strength. Bowling, a strenuous activity on the wrist is classic. Oral anti-inflammatories might help, along with modifying your activity. However, make sure you have not sustained a true injury by seeing a hand surgeon who can examine your wrist. My office is not far.
