Exam needed: A physician would have to inspect these lesions for diagnosis and treatment. They could be insect bites which are now festering and you might try keeping them clean and applying an antibacterial ointment like bacitracin. See your physician if surrounding redness develops or if the lesions don't heal.

What's the cause?: The real question is what not to do that slows down healing. Avoid using alcohol, peroxide, hibiclens, betadine, and bleach solutions. Inflammation ( red, hot, swollen, tender) is important to healing  so anti-inflammatories (motrin, advil) are bad. Cover the area with a clean dressing changed every other and protected from trauma.  Antibiotics do not help healing unless it is truly infected.

Get Examined: Puncture wounds should be carefully managed, as the surface may heal, trapping bacteria, unwanted materials, etc. Which can get infected ; pose major problems. Through immediate cleansing is mandatory, and may need protection from tetanus or bacteria depending on cause agent.  See your physician to be helped... Not a type of wound to ignore.

Depends on severity: If it is a small caliber thru &amp; thru wound, not injuring a major blood vessel or nerve, about 2 weeks. Larger calibers cause more tissue damage and take longer to heal.

In general, no: However, there are reasons that wounds will heal more slowly and these often do involve the lower extremities. Health conditions such as diabetes compromise small blood vessels, as does smoking and these typically progress with age.
If you are asking this question the big issue is how slow is your wound healing ? If you are concerned it should be looked at.

Doctor can evaluate: Needs an exam, diagnosis. A slight skin wound on one's leg usually doesn't hurt much unless it is inflamed or infected. In that case, the doctor will examine it and decide if antibiotics and warm compresses will help, or if there is an abscess that needs to be cut open to drain the pus. If the bump is not infected, but is some other more unusual disorder, the doctor can start treating that also.

DVT and ulcer: A wound or ulcer on the leg/ankle associated with venous hypertension will be difficult to heal. These wounds require compression in addition to regular wound care. A venous and arterial insufficiency ultrasounds are helpful before the compression devices are used to assess for safety. Okay to ask for a referral to a wound care clinic.

Checkout : They should have provided you with wound care instructions. Normally they have a choice of packing once or twice a day depending on the depth of the wound .Please get rechecked with whoever had seen initially.

: This never happens. Wounds are covered to help healing and sometimes prevent bacterial infection, but not to reduce entry by parasites.
