In general, no: However, there are reasons that wounds will heal more slowly and these often do involve the lower extremities. Health conditions such as diabetes compromise small blood vessels, as does smoking and these typically progress with age. If you are asking this question the big issue is how slow is your wound healing ? If you are concerned it should be looked at.
