Higher risk: Meningomyeloceles are part of a group of neural tube developmental malformations called "open neural tube defects".  They generally occur spontaneously in about 1:1000 pregnancies but can be more common in certain situations.  A series of sequential prenatal tests (blood, ultrasound and invasive i.e. Amniocentesis) can help detect babies so afflicted.

: A vaccine is designed to generate an antibody response that will protect the patient.  In the case of a pregnant woman, her baby is also afforded protection.  There are a number of ways that a COVID infection could cause fetal damage including neurological if the mother has fever and low oxygen levels due to lung disease.  We know that COVID infection can cause neurological sequelae.

When a woman is : Pregnant her periods cease. However, she could experience bleeding that is not a period. I have never heard of a pregnant woman have monthly bleeding at the time she would have experienced a period. You might want to double check the accuracy of the information you heard.
