Blood pressure: Pressure goes up and down all the time depending on what stresses the body sees. Usually it goes down at nite when stress levels are lower and rises in the am when awake and stresses reappear.

Mediterranean diet has peer-reviewed published data demonstrating better health outcomes, eg lower risk of death, heart disease, stroke, diabetes, cancer, etc. If you smoke, quit. If you don't, don't start. If you drink alcohol, only drink in moderation (no binging!). Don't forget that regular exercise is key to health.

Make him understand: if untreated will lead to serious complications , stroke , heat attacks, kidney failure etc. By simple medication will avoid all those complications,make him understand and  convince him what is good good  him , you did at least once , he married you right  !  Good Luck

my first blood pressure reading was 131/99 and the second was 116/80, why the big change? why is my diastolic 99? i have no symptoms i just check my blood pressure because i am anxious and want to know what it is.

BP meds tired: Discuss with your prescribing Dr.  Check BP sitting &amp;standing &amp; call Dr if it falls by 20 or you get dizzy on standing. The best diet change is to move to the DASH eating plan. Use the &amp;App Cronometer &amp; track Na &amp; K intake &amp; get to goal of less1,500 mg of Sodium Na &amp; more than 4,700 mg K/day.  Let your Dr know as you may need to back off on some of your BP meds. Go to NIHl.gov for more info on DAS
