Bv: Most likely you have bacterial vaginitis- an overgrowth of normal vaginal flora, usually treated by specific prescriptional antibiotic,  just go to your doctor, get it checked and get a script.

Depends upon cause: Vaginal odor can have many causes. Before you leave, check with your doctor to make sure you don't have an infection causing the odor. If this is a common problem for you and not due to an infection bring along moist towlettes or travel bar of mild soap and wash cloth in a plastic bag so that you can wash up freuqently. Douches can actually make the problem worse. Avoid perfumed products too.

i have been taking adderall off and on for about 6 years and every time i take it, there is almost an instant but distinct strong vaginal odor. if i miss a dose then the odor subsides but as long as i take it, its there. what can help with this?

: Strong Vaginal Odor is a side effect of all Amphetamine medications. It is caused by PH changes in the vagina and decreased lubrication production. You can use vaginal douches containing fragrance to mask or counter the odor, and you can use lubricating solutions to help with the vaginal dryness.

BV? Trichomonas?: The two main causes of fishy vaginal odor are bacterial vaginosis, an overgrowth of mostly normal bacteria; and trichomonas, an STD. Both usually also have increased vaginal discharge:  white/gray with BV, yellow/brown for trich. Other infections also can do it, and both trich and BV are more common in women with other STDs, if at risk. Best to see a doctor and not try to treat yourself.

Get HPV vaccine.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form.

The doctor who did your hysterectomy undoubtedly has a lot of experiecne with BV. Contact her for advice on diagnosis and treatment. : Get a second opinion from an OB-GYN. While she may may not have a urinary tract infection, her symptoms do sound like vagina yeast.
Daily cleansing with mild soap and water, cotton underware changed daily should also help until her next exam. Perhaps she is wiping herself back to front instead of front to back and bringing fecal bacteria into this area, so review proper hygiene as well.
