Several items: It could be the uterus contracting still. You could have inflammation of the uterine muscle. Both would respond to Ibuprofen. You might need an ultrasound to see if anything was left behind in the uterus. If you have a fever or chills then it is an infection. Best to follow up.

: Is the change in abdominal size from weakening of abdominal muscle tone, deposition of new fat tissue or bloating from intestinal gas accumulation?  Hormonal changes may have contributed to any of these. Check to see if she needs to reduce calorie intake &amp; has simply gained weight. Otherwise give her some time for hormonal regulation to normalize.

Cramps: It's normal to have cramping afterwards. Are you taking ibuprofen? That may help; try 600mg every 6 hours. If it gets worse or you have fevers, call your doc/clinic.

However, immediate seek medical attention if you develop severe abdominal/pelvic pain, excessive vaginal bleeding or discharge, fever, or vomiting.

Tests are accurate: Home pregnancy tests are very accurate and not affected by foods, herbs, common illnesses, sexually transmitted diseases, or medications. A correctly done urine test gives a reliable result 3 weeks after sex (3 weeks after when conception might have happened) or 1 week after missing a period. A visit to one's Ob-Gyn doctor can help decide what the next step shall be.

Abortion with meds: So called "medical abortions" are effective if done early.  Sometimes these meds do not terminate the pregnancy.  Get an immediate serum HCG test, to make certain you are not still pregnant.  If your cycles were normal prior to your pregnancy, they should have resumed by now. Get an exam in any case by your gyn provider.
