EDC: Edc or due date is a guess or calculation based on the last menstrual cycle, birth can be +/- several days.

Basics: You should be in communication with the OBGYN who will guide you in when visits are needed. Near the end of pregnancy scheduled office visits often become more frequent as they look for any signs of complications. Most develop natural labor within 1 wk plus/minus of the due date. You don't go in just because you are due unless told to by your doc.

Honestly : Honestly this is a question your ob/gyn will have to help you with. Have you informed him/her of your history of retinal detachment? Were you referred to an ophthalmologist since being pregnant? If not you should contact your doctor right away and bring up your concerns. A doctor who specializes in this type of problem can be consulted, if not in person, then at least your doctor can speak to them by phone since you are so close to your due date.

Sono wins : In your case the sonogram wins. That is the more accurate date giving you a due date of november 4. It is normal to deliver between 37 and 42 weeks.

i went to the gynae and my baby is due for the 19 of march but now the dr advises that i give birth earlier around the 19th due to fluid around the placenta being around 4cm and the babies waist also just within the range. bt i want the date of da 19?

: The health of your baby and you are more important than the date of the birth. It is vital for you to follow your OB Dr's advice and treatment plan in order to avoid stillbirth and other devastating outcomes. If your pregnancy is greater than 37 weeks it is considered full term and safe to deliver.

Labor : If you into labor then you won't really have any choice. A due date just marks 40 weeks. Term, normal labor is between 37-41 weeks.

Hard to tell...: There isn't enough information here to really make that determination.  Babies can be born premature --- was your baby "term" on exam?  How early did you give birth?  Many babies are born before their due date (38 weeks is actually considered term).  How early was your first US?  They are fairly reliable in determining gestation.

Speak with your OB : Doc u can do an elective induction anytime after 39 weeks gestation , so the earliest would be 7 days before your due date.
