Need more info: This is a question that will be better answered with further clarification of spine imaging details - where exactly is this mass at T9 - inside the spinal cord, inside the vertebral column, on top of the spinal cord, is it enhancing with contrast etc etc. Some masses are clinically benign like hemangiomas inside the vertebra, some are less benign causing symptoms like spine tumors, hematomas, AVMs

what are the risks of lumbar fusion? i am due to have lumbar fusion surgery. what are the risks of this surgery? could it make my back pain worse?

Yes: Many risks.  Risks include pain from fusion because you have a stiffer back, nerve injury, spinal fluid leak, infection, no help with back pain, no help with sciatica pain, non healing fusion that requires another surgery, adjacent level wear and tear requiring more surgery.

There are several : Reasons why: could be just post  op pain which resolves once tissues healed & the fusion as well.  If the fusion does not fully heal, there can be pain related to that issue.  If a fusion extends below L3 but not to the sacrum, there is a higher incidence of back pain later due to accelerated degenerative changes in the non fused disc levels. If spine not balanced after surgery, risk of back pain.

Not necessarily: You need to start by seeing a physician.  There are many causes of low back pain.  Most cases of mechanical low back pain (even chronic pain) can be treated conservatively.

i have serve back pain 2 months after back surgery. i had l5 and s1 disc removed. now i'm in worse pain then before. is this normal?

Back pain: Not normal but a common problem. After the herniated disc is removed, a recurrent disc or collapse of the disc space can cause new back and leg pain. This can lead to a repeat of the nonoperative measures such as physical therapy and cortisone injections. A back brace may help. Emotionally it is very deflating because you feel that you are back at the beginning of the process. It will get better.

im 16, 5'2 and i want to get smaller breasts. i have 32 l cups and i have really bad back pain and its hard for me to exercise i have tried losing weight and my breasts stay the same so is there anything more i can do or is surgery the way to go?

: Reduction is a major surgery but helpful to many. Many surgeons require that you finish linear growth, verified by bone  age study before offering surgery. At that point you need both the approval of the surgeon &amp; any 3rd party insurance to get it done. Working with a bra consultant for proper fit can help some but most eventually elect to have surgery.

Need an MRI: You need an MRI of the neck to define the diagnosis and help treat you.You may need to see  a neurologist  or even a neurosurgeon

i have a stable l5  s1 grade 2 spondylolisthesis and it is causing me leg and back pain. should i get a fusion surgery?  or just decompression surgery

See your doc: I doubt very much that most surgeons would do a decompression only in someone with a grade 2 spondylolisthesis. The reason for this is the liklihood for progression of the slippage without stabilization. I would advise getting more than one surgical opinion though.

Unless redoing: Surgery is possible, physical therapy is best course.
