Yes: It will although all medications have a quicker onset and more marked effect if taken on an empty stomach. Think about the difference of drinking a glass of wine on an empty stomach versus having the same glass with a full meal- the effect of the wine (or buzz) is generally much less with food in the stomach.

Stomach Pain: I do not know the cause of your stomach pain.  However, i can tell you that diazepam, aka valium, is not an analgesic.  If your pain is due to some sort of stress or anxiety disorder, diazepam may be helpful.  However, if your pain is due to an ulcer, some type of hyper acidic condition, diazepam alone may not be sufficient. Ask your physician for the cause of your pain.

All good, but...: Robaxin (methocarbamol) is probably best for muscle pain, in my opinion. None should upset your stomach, but I've had very good experience treating patients with muscle pain and tightness using Robaxin (methocarbamol). Flexeril and Diazepam tend to cause more drowsiness.

Yes: Paroxetine and diazepam are two different types of medications used to treat anxiety. Diazepam is typically only used on a short-term basis, as it can be addictive and cause other side effects. Diazepam and paroxetine typically do not interact with each other.

What OTHER: ...nonaddictive med?   Are you implying that diazepam is not a habit forming drug...because actually it is regarded as being high risk for dependency issues.  Unfortunately, the answer to your question is that there is no right answer. Each individual responds to analgesics differently. It's a matter of working with your doctors to discover what works best for you...addictive or not..good luck.

DO NOT: DO NOT self medicate.  Discuss all medications with the General Dentist or specialist Oral Surgeon who will be doing the extraction.  May interact with post-operative medications.

: I think that the medication might have some efficacy, but it is best to contact your prescribing Physician if a refill is necessary.  I would not take the medication.

Quick Relief: Diazepam is an anti anxiety drug that usually works right away. It is often used on a short term basis until your other medication starts to work. Talk to your doctor. You may need to increase the dose of your sertraline. The sertraline helps both depression and anxiety. It is usually a long term drug and can take up to 8 weeks to start to work. Hope this helps. Self help or non-med: Options. Have you tried cognitive behavioral therapy? Behavior modification? Individual psychotherapy? Group psychotherapy? Qi gong? Tai chi? Acupuncture? Acupressure? Homeopathy? Meditation? Yoga? Exercise program? Breathing exercises? Progressive muscle relaxation? Don't just rely on meds to get rid of your symptoms. Take an active and aggressive role in eliminating your anxiety !
