Maybe: It may, especially for worms depending on the size and if it's in its cystic form. Other times, it is picked up indirectly by the way the image enhances when contrast is injected or the effects it has on the surrounding tissue (eg localized edema).

Okay, I'll bite: The parasites themselves will not usually be evident.  However, an inflammatory response reaction or unusual appearance of the body trying to wall off the parasite may be seen.  The bottom line is, do they cause a reaction in the body that will show up on our radiologic scans.

: A growing hematoma implies a series of scans and the intensity of the leak may vary widely on different individual characteristics. Many times a series (more than 1 fall/trauma) is involved and that remains, too, variable from patient to patient. Would say hours to days depending on actual clinical context.

Yes sort of: The problem is that MRI using blow flow contrast and not dye only shows the main portion of the coronary arteries but not the smaller branches.  If you use ct is uses         contrast and lots of radiation.  Neither can replace a contrast angiogram.

IV contrast: is not required per se, both scans could be performed without contrast.  However, depending on what your doctor is looking for, the contrast may increase the sensitivity of the scan for detecting certain subtle and/or specific abnormalities.

Accepted Answer

Both: Ct with contrast is used as is MRI with gadolinium for diagnosing and evaluating the size of the meningioma. A radiologist would generally make a recommendation for the proper diagnosis.

Depends on: Anatomical location of investigation, and the type of tumor.  Sometimes you need both.  And these scans tell you about anatomical abnormalities, nothing about function.

Maybe: First exam should be a simple abdomen xray.  If doctor thinks the gallbladder could be diseased, then an ultrasound is best.  

Most other ailments best served with a ct scan.  Mri can help if a patient can't have ct contrast because of prior reaction or poor functioning kidneys. 

Mri scans take longer, cost more, and not readily available as ct scans.

Yes,: but sometimes the findings are not specific, and biopsy may be required if there is a question.

Both very safe: However, MRI is likely safer because it does not use ionizing radiation like ct.

Mri is essentially a very fancy radio, and ct is a very fancy x-ray machine, taking images from multiple directions to make a picture.

Contrast agents, usually injected into a vein as part of both MRI and ct, have risks as well, however they are very low, well known and easily avoided or managed.
