might it be that a a pinched nerve go away by itself?

Disc Herniation: Yes. Most herniated discs heal on their own--80%. For those that are too painful or fail to improve with pt, nsaid's, 6-18 weeks time, nerve blocks, other medications, then discectomy (plucking out the ruptured fragment) is very successful. In the neck, this is often accompanied by disc replacement or fusion. In the lumbar spine, discectomy is all that is necessary.

i have avascular necrosis in my hips and got a very deep pain in one of them suddenly and it was followed by 10 minutes of body shaking tremors. is this from the pain or a pinched nerve? it did go away but has me concerned?

Foot massage: Foot massage is extremely helpful for foot numbness because it increases circulation.  Numbness is due to decreased circulation especially to nerves which alter sensation.  It's not likely a pinched nerve per se but compression of all your foot structures.  A soak and massage should be good....And laying off the high heels may be good too. :-).

left nipple pain from pinched nerve in back. 1 year and 3 drs later,the pain is still there. will it ever go away? its not bad just annoying when brushed against it or shower water hits it. i welcome any advice.i have a terrible back degeneration?

hi. my neck has been sore for almost 6 weeks now. i was hoping it would go away but fearing im now reaching the limit and dont want to damage my nerve. my right hip is also hurting. its like a pinched. nerve and im wondering if i should mri?

Pain: I don't see any mention of having had a medical evaluation. It is important not to put the cart before the horse. A medical evaluation will help to determine the cause of your pain. The provider will ascertain whether an MRI or other studies are warranted.

Depends: Most "pinched nerves" are just inflamed, not damaged.  When your spinal health improves with stretch, strength, and staying active, your numbness should go away.  The bellybutton goo is a bit difficult to judge without examination.  If the skin is red or blistered, get another examination.  Try keeping the bellybutton dry with a cotton swab.  Treat piercings with hydrogen peroxide, then dry.

6 weeks: Nerves recover relatively slowly compared to other body tissues from effects of compression. Recovery depends upon duration of compression, severity of compression, location of compression (such as a bony prominence), the particular nerve and person's age & comorbidities. As a general rule 6 weeks may be the earliest in moderate cases.

will a pinched nerve in the back cause pain and swelling in the knee?

Yes: Is not uncommon for people who have back problems to also have knee and hip problems since arthritis is a systemic disease frequently. Your back pain may have offset your gate and irritated your kn ee cause swelling of the knee. However, it is not uncommon for people with herniated discs or back problems to experience episodes of generalized swelling of one or both lower extremities. Sinceback problems are neurologic in nature the homeostasis of the circulatory system can be affected. Of course there's also concern for reflex sympathetic dystrophy. We would need specific information on your physical exam and history. We would combine this with imaging studies to get a diagnosis. I would also start with an x-ray of the affected me.

can your face go numb from a pinched nerve?

Yes: Facial and trigeminal cranial nerves can cause facial numbness but much less likely a cervical neck pinched nerve.  Consideration of a stroke for face numbness suggests a full evaluation.
