Common.: Cold viruses cause inflammation and fragility of vessels in your upper airway.  Small streaks of blood in mucus are frequently seen in upper respiratory infections.  Frank blood is much less common. Persistent symptoms warrant attention.

Don't worry try Neti: But do watch for changes. It's probably surface capillaries the have been quite irritated and have broken. It should improve as you recover and you may want to use a neti pot saline wash instead of blowing. If it stays or gets worse - see your doctor. But it should heal up. Best!

Probably Sinusitis: The swelling inside the nose from the cold has likely swelled the sinus openings closed, causing a sinus infection. While it will likely go away on it's own (if you wait long enough), antibiotics will make this go away much more quickly.

See your doc: It may be that you just have significant irritation/inflammation of your nasal passages/sinuses from noninfectious inflammation but it's also possible that you have a more concerning bacterial sinusitis that may require antibiotic therapy.  At least consider, in the intermin, nasal saline irrigation several times a day .. it's a start.  But boil your water prior to use(and let cool) to sterile.

ANS: sounds like your diagnosis is correct. Should be over it in 14 days if you got antibiotics and in 2 weeks if not. But some parts of US and world are having different cold durations. Sinus infection: the real question is this a viral or bacterial infection? Unfortunately, cannot be diagnosed online, I suggest a medical examination and evaluation to determine if antibiotic therapy is needed.

Sinus infection: You may have a sinus infection in what is called your maxillary sinuses. It is best to treat these with antibiotics if they don't resolve on their own. Present to your primary physician and he or she will prescribe the course of their choice. Stop the nasal spray and if you smoke or use any drugs stop that also because it can make you more susceptible to these infections. You should see ENT also

Common : Pregnancy increases the vascularity of your nasal passages.  Sometimes prolonged coughing during pregnancy can cause you to get a nose bleed and this can show up when you cough and also in your nasal mucus.  Its important to mention it to your ob to make sure there isn't something else going on.  (For example, TB can make you cough up blood but its uncommon.)  Best wishes!
