i had surgery 2 days ago for gallbladder lap. and they put a brownish orange chemical on my skin and now i have hives on my stomach. what should i do?

Take a shower: The brownish orange paint is most likely betadine, an iodine containing antiseptic.  Some patients will have some sensitivity, which may be the situation in your case.  You can go into the shower and wash it off.  Your bandaid incisions can get wet.  It is less likely an allergic reaction to a medication that you got in the operating room.  If it gets worse, contact your surgeon's office.

just got my cast off after surgery and the bottom of my foot is orange and yellow. why? and what can i do for this?

Iodine?: If u had surgery, they may have used iodine wound wash all around the area to prevent infection, that would contribute to the color. Your skin also may have change color from being in the cast and that is normal. After a few times bathing and applying lotion ur skin will be back to normal.:)

why is my skin peeling after surgery?

More Information: It depends on where you are experiencing this problem. Most times, i find my patients have peeling around the incision site where surgical glue has been applied. This is actually the glue that is peeling off, and not the skin. Other times, the skin is peeling due to a reaction to the tape. Removing the tape and keeping the area clean and dry will help.

Please see your surgeon as soon as possible.

Yes.: What needs to be ruled out immediately is an infectious or other necrotizing process affecting your surgical wound.  An er would be the best place to start for an evaluation, as well as asking your surgeon to evaluate you asap.

USUALLY...: You can treat it with mild steroid creams like cortaid (hydrocortisone).  If this doesn't help right away, see a dermatologist.

Several : Several techniques are used to improve the contour of the neck.  The specific technique, or combination thereof, will be customized to your specific condition.  During a face and neck lift, the skin is redraped and the excess is removed.  The muscles are not removed, they will be repositioned and tightened with sutures, and may or may not be divided in the neck.  This surgery will typically result in a tight feeling and some numbness but this will resolve over time.  Your medical problems will need to be optimized before surgery to minimize the risk of complications.  The results are long lasting, but are not forever.  The longevity of the procedure is highly dependent on the quality of your tissue.

after being discharged from the hospital after surgery, i developed a hard ball of skin on my forearm where a shot was given, why & what kind of shot?

Forearm: There is no way to know what shot was given simply by the fact there was a reaction to it. On your forearm, it was more likely to be an iv insertion or blood draw as most injections are not given in the forearm generally. If it is not painful or red, give it time and it will probably resolve on its own.

Maybe but it depends: Your hair can stop growing due to major stress. Typically we think of child birth and hospitalizations but extreme anemia can do this too. Assuming your thyroid is normal and your blood count recovers after your operation, then we would expect your hair to return to normal. But expect several months to go by before you see a full head of hair again.
