Lump in belly: That is difficult to answer without more information and without palpating it. Where exactly in your belly- toward one side, middle, upper or lower. Does it feel firm or soft? How small is small- a centimeter or is it more? Is it deep or more on the surface?

How long, how deep?: could be a cyst, or a small herniation. Sometimes if you lose weight things that have been there before are suddenly visible or palpable. I'd suggest  you consult with your own primary care practitioner, or perhaps an urgent care.

She should go to the doctor to have basic blood work done to see if her liver is not functioning as well as it should. This can be a life threatening issue if not solved quickly.  A history of hepatitis puts her at higher risk.

Umbilical hernia?: Most likely it is an umbilical hernia.  If he is a baby it is very common and may improve by itself. Otherwise the only way ro repair them is with surgery. In any case show it to the pediatrician.
