Vision issues: Squinting eyes can be a tic or a sign of eye irritation. However, often it's a sign of visual problems or a need for glasses. Squinting changes the shape of the eyeball and can temporarily improve visual acuity. Teachers can often spot a child with vision issues squinting at the blackboard. If it's lasting more than a few days, see an eye doctor.

What do you mean?: That's a layman's term that can mean a couple of things.  If it's a crossed eye it can be managed with surgery or possibly prism in glasses.  If it is amblyopia (lazy eye), there is not much to be done at your age.

? long term: The misdirection of the eye can also lead to vision loss as the brain decides to quit dealing with double vision. Re-alignment can be accomplished by a trained eye surgeon adjusting the eye muscles. This may be a satisfactory but purely cosmetic fix, as long term vision loss may not improve.

Depends: Are you seeing double?  Do you have to occlude one eye?  If this is something that started in childhood, then one eye is suppressed and doubling will not occur. If it is of recent onset, then you should see an ophthalmologist to see what has changed - particularly if there is redness, pain or swelling or the vision has changed.

There : There are a few things this could be:  
this could be a tic disorder such as tourette syndrome.  Tic disorders are common (1 in a 100 people) and can involve blinking, coughing, throat clearing, sniffing and facial movements.  No one really knows why this happens, but genetics are thought to play a role.  It is commonly diagnosed in children and tends to improve when they hit their teen years.  There are medications that can help very severe tics, but most of the time, medication is unnecessary.

This could be an eye injury such as a scratch on the cornea of the eye.  This could cause the blinking and the sensitivity to light, but these are also painful and most kids - even infants - will let you know how uncomfortable they are by being very irritable.

There is a very small chance that this could be seizure related.  While your son is blinking, is he responsive to you?  Does he seems to "space -out" and not hear or remember what you are saying?

The best thing to do is to contact his doctor and set up an appointment for evaluation.

i had squint surgery last year. when i work on computer it feels like pain in back of that eye..  like a pin is pricked..  terrible pain.  what to do?

Dry eyes: The most likely cause of eye pain while working on a computer is dry eyes.  I would first try using frequent artificial tears while working on the computer.If that fails to help your problem, then you need to see your ophthalmologist.
