Alopecia: may begin with noticed hair drop (some hair loss is normal) Both males and females can have "male pattern baldness" which is the most common form of alopecia.  Speak with your PCP about this issue/don't hesitate...

Chemo: Generally, the cancer itself does not lead to the loss of hair. It is the adjuvant therapy. For example radiation therapy to the brain certainly leads to loss of hair. The chemo therapy leads to hair loss by leading to damage to the hair follicles.

Depends: Hair loss due to thyroid disease resolves when thyroid levels normalize. If hair loss continues after thyroid levels are normal then it is due to another cause.

It is also seen occasionally in long-haired people who use barrettes to keep hair out of their faces.

It doesn't: Topical Dht blockers are no effective. Oral fin asteroids blocks Dht from the inside and does work on most men especially on the middle of the scalp.

Finfacia?Finasteride: Finasteride takes about 3-6 monthd to work well if you have alopecia secondary to male hormone excess as in PCOS. Be patient.
Have the hair checked if due to Telogen effluvium by hair tug test and checking if you take antidepressants, or low in estrogen state, zinc or iron deficiency. Must use 5 mg daily, lower usually does not help

No: If you are not having a rash from this you should not have any problems.

Doubt it is cause: All medications have side effects including Cosopt.  But loss of hair is not listed or known.  That said, you could be the first to lose hair from this, but I would suspect first another cause.  Check with your family doctor and see if he can evaluate you for an alternate cause.

i am experiencing rapid hair loss and an irritated scalp. i have made no changes regarding haircare. i am also experiencing quick drops in blood pressure and start shaking if i dont eat every 3-4 hours.  should i go for tests?

Unusual symptoms: Yes, you should go for testing. Your symptoms could indicate hypoglycemia. However, your symptoms may be indicative of an autoimmune disease, which is not commonly evaluated on a first visit. You might ask your doctor to test you for autoimmune and inflammatory markers. If you know him or her well they may be willing to do this.

i take 125mcg of levothyroxine a day.i have profuse hair loss, dry,very itchy skin, anxiety,restless etc for some time.my endo says im within normal parameters.but,i asked lower my dose and he suggested down to 88mcg..thats quite a drop.  too much ?

Levothyroxine: I would be guided by your TSH level. If it becomes too high, then you have an underactive thyroid. I really think you should follow your endocrinologist's instructions as he/she is taking into consideration all your thyroid parameters as well as your symptoms.
