lower disc pops out.  recently caused my left pinky toe to go numb.  back is back to normal and pain free but toes is still numb.  physical or emotion?

Physical: the discs in the spine can press on nerves that go all the way to the feet. A nerve compression can result in a "bruise" to the nerve with left over symptoms that can last several months until the nerve recovers.

my left pinky toe goes numb every time i move it to the left at all and it will stay that way for 5+ hrs. what is the cause?

Numb toe: more than likely the Sural nerve is irritated from pressure from your shoes. Wear wider shoes to minimize the pressure in the foot and nerve. See your podiatrist for a full exam.

Possibly a neuroma: Sometimes morton's neuroma can cause numbness of the 5th toe. It is not possible with the present information to rule out another nerve entrapment .. Make sure you are wearing proper fitting shoes.

Varies: There are a number of potential causes, I would not hesitate to be seen.  The two most common causes would likely be local irritation of the digital nerve running into the toe, verses a "sciatica"of the S1 nerve in the back. Make sure you are wearing shoes that have a wide enough forefoot to accommodate your foot and don't hesitate to be seen.

Make sure your : Shoes are the correct size. Is the toe straight? Or does it lean into the fourth? You May have a hammertoe with an adductovarus rotation that is being compressed in a shoe. 
Seek help of foot doctor if shoe modification does not help.

Bacroban: Bactroban (mupirocin) Ointment 2% works very well in this setting. Make sure the wound is kept clean and dry.

Sleepy Toe.: Numbness of one or more of the little toes can start and end with complete mystery. The problem is commonly due to pressure applied to the toe. The pressure need not be dramatic, but can be subtle in nature applied over a longer time. Typically shoes are notorious for being the culprit. Try isolating a potential shoe and stop wearing it for a while. Give it some time to see if it resolves.

Should see MD if not: It could be due to pressure on the nerve in the foot. Have you tried any new shoes which may cause the symptoms if they are too tight. If the area of the numbness increases or does not get better needs to evaluated.

There : There are numerous reasons why a toe would become numb, ranging from something called a neuroma, which is a benign enlargement of a nerve near the toe, to a nerve impingement anywhere from your lower back on down the leg, to more serious things, like ms.  I doubt it's anything like diabetes if it's only affecting one toe.

I would advise you to see your doctor or podiatrist, who will perform some basic neurological tests to see exactly where the numbness begins and ends, and whether there are any significant neurological abnormalities.  He or she may send you for more neurological testing to determine the cause of this.

the pinky toe on my left foot went numb about 3 weeks ago and now its spreading to the next toe, numbness never goes away.what could be causing this?

Any associated pain?: Possibly the start of a pinched nerve..If  the third toe becomes involved get it checked out for sure
