i had a hip replacement seven years ago, now its popping every time i get up and have a lot of pain what do you suggest. i've been to the surgeon who did the surgery but he days yhere is nothing wrong.?

Get another opinion: I can not tell if is due to the total hip or not but would recognize that something is happening and needs clarification. Get another opinion.

What's loose?: Hip replacement being loose can refer to the hip being unstable, or to an implant being loose in the bone.  Either way, evaluation by your surgeon is warranted.  Want to make sure there is not failure occurring.

i have had a hip replacement for around 3 years and now i have started a work where you have to bend down alot. is it okay to bend down alot when your hip is healed?

Bending is ok: Bending and normal activities are ok after hip replacement.  Assuming your hip has had no stability issues, and your bending is not out of the ordinary or associated with heavy weight lifting, then it should be ok.  But your surgeon will be best able to answer this question based on the technique of surgery they used, and the motions you're inquiring about.

i am a diabetic, osteoporous, arthritic and have had a hip replacement. i have been told to get an ra test done. myhands hurt and go numb and the numbness may last from20 seconds to an hour. what might be the cause of it?

2 major causes: The 2 most likely causes are cervical spondylitis (pinched nerve in neck from arthritic spurs or ruptured disk) or diabetic peripheral neuropathy. An MRI and/or nerve conduction study will distinguish the 2 conditions. Treatments are different.

is running good for someone that just had a hip replacement?

No: Running is not a good idea. Artificial joints wear like the tires on a car. More miles means more wear. Walking is good and trek poles will add 40% to the exercise. Swimming, dancing, golfing, light weight lifting, and cycling are also good. Avoid activities that involve impact stress on joints such as jumping, jogging, running, raquetball, and tennis, as well as contact sports like football.

Accepted Answer

1 days: Unless there was a fracture or other reason to not get up and out of bed, most people are out of bed and walking the first day after surgery.  Recovery tends to occur at a rate of 8% to 10% a week, so at 5 to 6 weeks you should be about 50% to 60% better and moving from a walker to a cane.  At 2 months you should be 80% to 90% better and off the cane and walking with a minimal limp.

which sexual positions are advised if the female has had a hip replacement?

It depends.: It is easier to note what should be avoided than which positions are advisable. If surgery was done through an anterior approach, there are no restrictions, but if there is a problem it would be with  hyper-extension with external rotation .  If surgery was done through a posterior approach, flexion with internal rotation should be avoided.

6-8 weeks: We advise them not to rush for that, every person different.

You should be better: Would return to see the doctor who performed the surgery, if you have not in a while. That is the necessary first step.

i had a hip replacement in march of 2020. it left my hips looking a little uneven and i was wondering if it is safe to get sculptra to help even them out?

Accepted Answer

Yes and no: Sculpture can build up soft tissue in small areas but it takes quite a long time  and multiple injections for it to work. Another option would be consider smoothing out both hips with liposuction which will actually take the bulk off and approve the contour significantly.
