i have a cough that itches n hurts slightly in my chest and i have a cough even when i'm not sick and i'm a smoker could it b phnumonia?

Chest Cough - cause?: So, without a list of other associated signs &amp; symptoms, I could not safely or professionally diagnose pneumonia in a such a setting. Ur q says ur a smoker, but profile says non-smoker. smokers may develop cough over time, as well as, ironically, brief exacerbation of cough when they try to quit or cut back smoking. Don't be discouraged! Quitting is by far the healthiest thing you can do! D/w pcp.

Needs To Be  Checked: It may be an allergic type of rash as it itches too.it.But it needs to be checked visually  and since it has been there for two weeks &amp; has not cleared.if it was due to a viral infection, it would have cleared in two weeks.Also it can be. Due to some insect bites. Thrre are other causes but in those cases there will be other co existing symptoms.And you have not mentioned any . Get it checked byMD

Pityriasis Rosea: Pityriasis Rosea Rash is a rash that starts on the trunk and spreads. This is one likely possibility. It is a very benign condition. The course of the rash however can be a bit prolonged 4-6 weeks. In some it can persist even longer, up to 3-4 months. A certain diagnosis would require an in person examination.

Many factors: Try to see what has changed -  anew shirt, clothing that touches the neck area, new detergents, not rinsing off the laundry detergent properly, etc.  If persists then seek help of a physician who can help control symptoms while a work up is started.

Manage it: Acne on the trunk usually requires both a topical such as benzoyl peroxide and systemic Rx suc has an antibiotic for at least a while. If it itches, you may be allergic to the bacteria -- or it may be someting other than acne. Dermatitis herpetiformis can do this. Your physician is your best guide.

Depends: If you have felt like this before and it passed in a few days with some rest and home care, try that again. If it is worse, see a doctor for exam and treatment. Wheezing can be serious - so can the other symptoms if they are out of the ordinary for you. Best wishes.

Tinea Versicolor: Tinea versicolor is a rash that occurs after the normal skin yeasts, pityrosporum orbiculare or pityrosporum ovale, transform to a pathogenic form and turn off melanin-producing cells in the skin. Because the yeast inhabits the top layer of the skin, topical antifungal medications are very effective. If the rash is extensive, oral antifungal medications may be needed.

Cream: You could try using a benedryl gel when it is itchy.  In the meantime just use a good moisturizer to the area every day and eventually the skin should heal up.

i have a seb..cyst on my chest that was infected 2 weeks ago. it got better but not gone. now i have a rash that itches all around the cyst.

Need more info: the rash could be an allergy to a topical medicine you used, or to a bandage.  Sebaceous cysts recur if not fully removed.  Could it be infected again?
