Don't push it though, particularly if you are starting.

Delayed muscle sore: Generally, delayed muscle soreness will get better after 48hrs of rest.  However, by doing routine exercises to condition your muscles, you may actually have no soreness or less soreness because you've strengthened the muscle or connective tissue.

Rest, ice, NSAIDs: Chest pain is always a concern because you want to to make sure it doesn't involve your heart or even your lungs. You describe mechanical soreness and at your age it is unlikely due to a heart problem. It sounds like you either have muscle soreness or inflammation of the joints between the ribs and the sternum (breast bone). These can be resolved with rest,nice and anti inflammatory meds.

my ribs, oblique muscles, chest, and legs are sore as if i've done a full body workout when i haven't. can this be due to carry a very heavy backpack?

Muscle pains: If you experienced these pains after carrying a heavy backpack then it is reasonable to assume the pains may be a result of this. Try Tylenol to relieve the pain. Take a break from carrying heavy items. If the pains persist, then see a doctor. If the pain is concentrated in the chest and worse with exertion, associated with breathing problems or radiates to arm, then see a doctor immediately.

two days ago, i did a workout, that was strenuous but did not practice it for 1 year. my muscles are sore, and i understand the reason why. but i feel a burning sensation that had not disappeared on my left arm and left bottom chest?

Lactic Acid: The burning sensation could be due to a build-up of lactic acid in the overworked muscles. It may need a bit more time to clear up. Take it easy with your workouts moving forward.

Hard to guess: Throat pain can be from strep throat infection (antibiotics are needed), a cold or influenza (antibiotics usually not used), or from some other cause such as allergies or irritants. Usually, one sees a doctor if the sore throat is bothersome, recurrent, or doesn't go away quickly (mainly to see about antibiotics). Lots of coughing makes it less likely to be strep throat. Best to rest a few days.

In between ribs: Are small muscles.  Sometimes they are the cause. There are many other possible reasons, some very bad, some not that important. Worth getting checked out.

Depend: If the muscled are sore to touch or restrict your range of motion, then wait another day or two. If you just have soreness the return to the gym and perform stretching and light lifting to promote blood flow and remove toxins from body. This help promote healing. If your muscle are extremely painful go see your doctor for an evaluation. Must be aware of rhabdomyolysis.

Could: Reflux attacks can result in soreness as the burning starts to abate. It also can cause coughing. If symptoms persist seek professional help.

Stomach pain c/p: May be GERD ( reflux) or gastritis w/ or w/o  bacteria H pylori or may be gallbladder. or  constipation,  food intolerance ,irritable bowel  ( diarrhea?)  gas from food intolerance, or even ovarian issues Can try ranitidine /prevecid for GERD, simethicone ( Gas-X ) for  gas, milk of magensia 1 tablespoon  at night for 4 days for constipation. F/u w/ doc /allergist for H pylori/ food intolerce
