Bone Smack.: You need to take a close look to see if there is any residual swelling or bruising. These are indicators that the injury is more involved. Due to the thin skin around the ankle area, the surface of the bone can become very painful, especially if the periosteum if damaged. If ice isn't helping, then apply moist heat to calm the inflamed nerves. Your pain should slowly resolve, if not, see a doctor.

Tendonitis/fascitis?: this sounds like inflamation of the insertion of the plantar fascia in the heel area.  If it is worse in the morning, that is a sign.  See a doctor and have him evaluate the issue, perhaps xray.  Treatment will depend on the findings but might include a night splint, exercises, and ibuprofen

Many things: This sounds like it is corresponding to a nerve path.  If so, it can be caused by any abnormality along the nerve.  Old injuries, arthritis, bone spurs, etc could all cause this.  If over-the-counter medications don't relieve the symptoms you may need to see your doctor and/or an orthopedic doctor.
