is it normal for ejaculate to make you vagina burn/sting? when my husband and i use a condom, sex feels fine. without it feels fine until he ejaculates. once he does it his semen burns or stings the inside of my vagina. is this normal?

: No it is not. There is something in his ejaculate you could be allergic/sensitive to. See your Gyn or an allergist for help.

A spooning posture is preferred to missionary position during sexual activity.  Ic concurrently raises concern for joint hypermobility syndrome (jhs), which is an associated marker.

Swelling: It could be an infection or STD and is more likely if this is something new for you.  I'm assuming that this is unprotected sex, but if not some women have reactions to spermicide on the condom or to lasix (furosemide).  Women can also form antibodies to sperm, but the effect is usually on the sperm, not the vagina.  If could also be an allergic reaction if you're using a lube, especially if oil based lube

Both need Rx: Both you and your partner need to be treated simultaneously with medication to prevent reinfection with Trichomonas.  See a GYN MD today and most will provide medication for both of you at the time of the appointment when the infection is confirmed.

Irritation: Depending on sexual practices (e.g. timing, frequency, duration, preferences, etc..), irritation related to minor trauma is one possibility.  If possible, abstain from sexual activity, including indirect activity that would contribute to arousal, and keep yourself well hydrated with a clean frequent urine stream being the goal.  If symptoms don't subside or show no signs of doing so, get checked.

Thanks for asking!: A likely cause would be small tears in the vaginal lining that occur during intercourse (especially if protracted or associated with lack of lubrication) and react with the alkaline or acid ph of the semen. True allergy to semen has been reported but very rare.
