Ears popping: The reason for the popping is that pressure builds up in the inner ear because there is inflammation around the eustacian tube.  The eustacian tube helps let pressure out.  Fluid build-up may also be contributing.  Decongestants can help.

You should see DR.: Please visit your Dr. immediately;
 It occured  because your Eustachian tube is obstructed either by an allergy, an infection, a virus or sometimes a change in shape or function.  Often this will follow a cold or throat infection, but can also occur in isolation. those are the most common 
•	Painful pressure   
•	Hearing reduced,   
•	Tinnitus  
•	Fever and discharge from the ear. Throat pain

Accepted Answer

Plugged : Plugged ears after a cold is very common.  This may be due to swelling of the eustachian tube so that the ear cannot equalize pressure or from direct inflammation of the middle ear.  If there is no active infection in the ear, then the best treatment is just waiting for it to recover.  Some people may get benefit from over-the-counter decongestants.  Your doctor may start a nasal steroid spray.  There is no proof that these speed recovery.  Unfortunately, symptoms can lst 2-3 months.  If there is persistent fluid in the middle ear past that time, an ear tube may need to be placed.

i went swimming 2day and now both ears are clogged like i have ear plugs in i cleaned out with a q-tip and amber earwax was on the end there is no pain some cackling when i sollow its like when u have a bad head cold and when u
talk or some ealse does it

If : If there is no pain or unusual drainage you probably don't have an ear infection. It's possible you pushed some of the wax further in and created an impaction. I would try to soften the wax (if still in there) with a couple day useage of something like debrox or ceruminex (otc), pick up a baby bulb syringe, and self irrigate your ears in a ear down position with luke warm water. Hopefully this will clear your ears. I not, somebody should lok in your ears to determine the cause.

for the pass few months i've had a runny clear discharge from my nose along with plugged inner ears off and on, my ears pop at times with yawning. would this all cause lightheadedness or dizziness upon standing when my are plugged?

: You need someone to look in your ears for ear wax would be my first suggestion. Let us know what they see.

Not abnormal: Your ear hears best when the pressure on either side of the ear drum is equal. If your eustachian tube is less than perfect, it requires a greater pressure difference between the two sides of your ear drum before the equalization occurs.

Yes: Try to figure out what foods or ingredients that may be causing this and either remove them from your diet or simply taking a zyrtec or Claritin (loratadine) may help out.

Ear drum hole: Not having popping does not mean ear drum is necessarily healed. This needs to be examined and hearing tested. Keeping water out of the ear is helpful to prevent infections from developing.

do ear crystals plug your ears up?

Accepted Answer

No: There are small calcium crystals inside of the inner ear located behind the eardrum called otoliths. These crystals can become dislodged, and every time you turn your head, the crystals shift causing momentary dizziness: a condition known as  benign paroxysmal positional vertigo. These crystals shift with movement and can clump together but do not per se "plug" up the ear canal.

if your ears are plugged due to covid, would peroxide drops in my ear help? any suggestions?

Accepted Answer

: No. Perceived "plugging" would be from retaining middle ear mucus. The peroxide would do nothing for this &amp; just make the canal moist. This fluid must dissipate over time after the local inflammation fades.
