hello. i have this lingering cough after a cold i that recovered 3 /4 weeks ago. is this a cause of concern, and do i need to see a doctor?

: The cough may improve with a little bit more time
 If there are other symptoms such as wheezing, shortness of breath and mucus production, please follow up soon. If you have asthma, follow your asthma plan, avoid smoke and  allergic triggers.

why do i have a metallic taste in my mouth when i cough? i'm not on an antibiotic anymore i stopped almost 2 months ago but my cough and wheezing are still lingering. is that normal for it to be 2 months with cough and wheezing and metallic taste? thanks!

See your doctor : If you have had lingering cough and wheezing for 2 months you should go back to your doctor.  It could be serious.

shortness of breath, tachycardia, congestion, cough. pins and needles in upper body intermittently, but this recently stopped. o2 is normal, ekg is normal. tested negative for covid. is this lingering bronchitis or cause for further concern?

Sx's:  Did you have symptoms at the time you had the COVID 19 test? This could be bronchitis  or other conditions. If you were fully symptomatic at the time of COVID testing, it should have been able to pick up on infection.

: No, it should not. Cough may persist up to 3 weeks after a cold, i.e. a viral infection.

Coughing: By using a cough suppressant it becomes more difficult to expectorate the phlegm being produced by the mucolytic  cough medicine. Stop the suppressant, use the vaporizer , push fluids and elevate his mattress while sleeping.

what are the signs that acute bronchitis is improving? im 33 and am fairly healthy. this annoying lingering cough has been around for almost 3 weeks. no other symptoms. feels like the cough is less and less but is so slow to improve. thanks?

: A cough lasting longer than 2 weeks should be evaluated by a doctor. If you do not have fever and it is improving you may wait and watch, however, if it is not resolved in a couple of weeks, it would be prudent to see a doctor.

See Dr: Prescription albuterol or salmeterol, with or without steroid usually works. But must also consider tuberculosis, bronchiectasis, etc. Taking any meds such as ACE [lisinopril]?

: Hard to say for certain but she is probably ok to be around for now. Recommendations have changed and continue to change, but the general consensus is that people are probably not contagious after 10 days if they had mild to moderate disease or 20 days with severe disease. Cough after a viral illness can persist for a long time, as long as 2 months, long after the infection is gone.

COVID 19: For some, the symptoms of COVID 19 can linger for weeks to months (especially pulmonary symptoms).  If you are having difficulty breathing - that would require prompt medical attention.
