Allergic dermatitis: You should be examined. There could be multiple reasons for the red eyelids.  One reason could be an allergy to a topical agent like your make up or a cream.  There is also another skin disorder called acne rosacea that can affect the eye area.  These conditions are easily treated.

May be an infection: If you are still wearing the lenses, put some rewetting drops or artificial tears in and remove the lenses. Sometimes these could be symptoms of lens overwear. If there is continued pain, redness, blurred vision, discharge, or light sensitivity, see an ophthalmologist immediately because this could be a corneal ulcer. Don't wear the lenses for at least a day, even if the symptoms resolve.

: Has your vision been affected?  What you have sounds like a condition termed uveitis (or iritis).  This is a sterile inflammation inside the eye which can be destructive if not treated.  You should see your ophthalmologist quickly to have this diagnosed and treated if it is this condition.

Since the eyes drain into the nose via a duct, it is not surprising that tear may drain into the nose area.  If the problem is getting worse or not improved after 3 days, see your doctor.
