It should not: There are multiple variables that dictate the rate of sodium changes when giving saline solution.  Hypertonic saline may elevate a patients sodium level but this depends on how much and how quickly it is given.  Generally, 500cc of 3% saline over 2.5 hours would not cause a reaction.

Not sure, but...: Salt may have something to do with blood loss and the body's need to retain fluid so blood pressure does not drop to low. Eating salt helps retain water and raise blood pressure. Chocolate may be the caffeine, which in some people helps with the cramps during one's period. These are just educated guesses, though.

Yes, sometimes: Fondaparinux (trade name arixtra) is an anticoagulant  ("blood thinner") related to heparin. Anticoagulants decrease blood clotting and therefore, menses can be heavier. You should discuss this medication with your doctor to ensure you are on the right dose. Just monitor your reaction and your doc can adjust dose and work with gyn to get it right.

LMP 30d: So your last period was about 30 days ago.  It's a little early to detect if you are pregnant, at least with home testing.  Your symptoms don't sound that suspicious for pregnancy.  If this does not bother you too much, give yourself 3 days or so.  Perhaps the period will still come?  If not, it is a good idea to do some pregnancy testing.
