Yes, sometimes: Fondaparinux (trade name arixtra) is an anticoagulant ("blood thinner") related to heparin. Anticoagulants decrease blood clotting and therefore, menses can be heavier. You should discuss this medication with your doctor to ensure you are on the right dose. Just monitor your reaction and your doc can adjust dose and work with gyn to get it right.
