Evaluation: There are many causes of dyspnea with exercise.  Common causes:  #1) poor fitness: if you are out of shape, it's hard to keep up with your body's oxygen needs, #2) expertise-induced asthma: this is common, and can be diagnosed with history, exam, pfts, and maybe an exercise test, 3#) heart disease (this would not be common in a 32 yo.)  start with your primary care doctor. I suspect there: May be a problem w how you're measuring your heart rate. If you're using a heart rate monitor, this is quite common. Check for poor contact w sensors (they even make a conductive gel-babump-that helps). Also check for electronic interference. If you're measuring your pulse manually, have someone else check it. 180bpm is so fast its hard to count. If your heart beats that fast, you should feel bad.

Stabbing pain: At your age this is quite common. Assuming that you are totally healthy and have no cardiac issues this is probably muscular in nature.

Driven: CO2 levels stimulate breathing to inhale O2. Hold your breath, and the co2 levels rise and your need to breath continues to increase until you breath or pass out and your body takes over and you breath. Unless you are breathing high levels of O2 (from an O2 source) your body will drive up the resp. rate to get it from the air.

i am a 17 year old boy and i need advice about gain weight during exercise like gym.. my waist size is 26.. and i need to increase my waist.. plz help?

Weight gain: in one area of the body is unlikely.  Check w/doctor first to make sure your health is good.  Protein powder drinks and higher protein foods can help strengthen muscles throughout the body.  Exercise can tone muscles.  Celebrate that fact that you are likely healthy and focus as much as possible on how you treat others and cleanliness rather than on body.  Peace and good health.

No: Drinking water before, during and after exercise helps maintain good hydration.  If you consume large quantities, you may feel temporary bloating sensation, but this will not increase the size of your stomach.

Floaters : Floaters come and go but I do not think that casual wt. lifting would make any difference as long as you are not attempting  huge amounts of wt. beyond your capabilities

what could cause chest tightness and squeezing after but not during exercise?  isn't angina type pain typically during increased exertion?

Accepted Answer

Yes but: You're correct, however there are exceptions to every rule.  If you're having chest tightness and squeezing, it could be an atypical form of angina, but could also be a type of asthma or muscle spasms.  It would be best to talk to your doctor about this.
