i was prescribed magic mouthwash. i realized it was overly strong stuff. now i've noticed my mouth is losing skin layer. is it related? what to do?

Magic mouthwash: Magic mouthwash can be a number of different medication combinations.  If you are reacting to this then the best thing to,do is to,contact the prescribing dentist and see what can be done for you.

nightly i use crest 3d white glamorous white mouth wash. is this stuff safe to use nightly? it contains only 1.5% hydrogen peroxide which is relatively low from what i understand. any concerns about doing this? should i limit the frequency?

: You get the best results from any teeth whitening agent immediately after the tooth have been professionally cleaned. You are right the Hydrogen Peroxide % is low. Remember not to eat any pigmented foods for a couple of days after using teeth whitening agents. You will get a better result with professional whitening trays - it may be cheaper in the long run.

finally got rid of it white tongue with patches using  avohex mouth wash red 300ml but there is still small amount white stuff in the back of the tongue small amount should i still be worried or need of going to dentist for a check up.

Find peace...: You were obviously worried enuf to mention your problem here, so why not give yourself some peace of mind and go get that area looked at.  There might be more than just what you can see and no one needs any color patches in their mouth...let alone sharing it with some unsuspecting person.

can use colgate mouthwash if having mouth ulcer?

May irritate: you can try rinsing with the Colgate mouthwash and see if it irritates your ulcer. I'd advise using Rincinol by Butler Gum to help sooth the ulcer which should normally take a little over a week to resolve. If that doesn't help your Dentist can prescribe a special mouthwash to alleviate the discomfort. If it is still persistent have your dentist examine it. Hope you feel better.

Not sure: If you are referring to listerine, then possibly. Any mouthrinse that contains alcohol can cause dry mouth...Traditional listerine has alcohol.  Try switching to listerine zero or any other mouthrinse that is alcohol free.

Yes.: The mouthwash's antibacterial and cleaning effects are while "rishing" inside your mouth.  None are good to swallow.  Rinsing your mouth afterwards is not a bad idea!

Your choice: Rinse or not? This depends on what rinse you use. If it is for cavity prevention and the rinse contains fluoride, spit well, but best not to rinse--the remaining rinse continues to add Fluoride into your tooth. If it is to kill germs in mouth, ;  you do not want the chemicals to be absorbed by your body, rinse off. Most otc products seem to expect no-rinse to offer its efficacy, however. Spit well.

the rumor is that mouthwash is not good for your mouth.  is that true?  use salt instead.

Not very helpful: Most mouthwash makes you feel "minty fresh", but has very limited health benefits.  Listerine has some effect, because it has some essential oils that bacteria don't like, but in general, mouthwash has no clinical benefit.  Brushing and flossing sure do though! so don't cover bad odor with mouthwash, ...Just see your dentist instead...There might be a reason why you need it!

today i made the mistake of using isopropyl alchahol instead of my usual mouthwash, and then i read it is harmful to the mouth, will that damage heal?

Yes: as long as you do not have painful sores with eating and drinking, you should be fine

was gargling with listerene mouthwash. swallowed about 1/4 of what was in my mouth by accident. is this ok?

OK.: Minor amount should cause no trouble.
