Just quit: Staining your teeth is the least of the problems that smoking cigarettes causes.  Do yourself a favor and just quit for good.

i had 2 biopsys since 2016. i have a scar on the bottom left side of my tongue. the scar hits my teeth and causes a sore. its very painful. i try to wear a mouthguard to keep from damaging it more. who can i see to smooth out the scar or remove it?

: It would be much easier for you to see a dentist who could round off that edge of the tooth that is irritating your tongue. Additional surgery may worsen the situation. Go for a consult.

Fraxel Scar Removal: There having a great deal of success removing scars with the fraxel laser. This procedure would have to be performed by a dermatologist.

Pain: Anytime one experiences pain in their mouth, they should see a dentist to see what&#x27;s causing it. It takes time for the socket and tissues to heal and mature following the removal of teeth. Whether or not it&#x27;s normal or the cause of you discomfort would require a personal one-on-one clinical exam.

See a dentist: White spot on the gum could come from many different things . We are usually worry about leukoplakia that could be a pre cancerous lesion . I doubt yours are , but to be safe see your dentist.

Developing teeth: There are many things that can affect developing teeth.  Physical trauma such as falling, may damage a still-soft developing enamel layer through movement of baby teeth above.  Too much Fluoride also may affect developing enamel appearance.  High fever also has a similar effect. So you may see some defect/scar on your child's teeth later if s/he had a high fever from chicken pox.

is there maybe a way to remove the scar tissue in my cheeks to prevent further cheek-biting? my teeth are all straight and well cared for.

Cheek biting: Hi Scott!  If there are visible areas where you are biting your cheeks you may be able to have this painful tissue removed.  In my practice I have a soft tissue laser to remove growths or overgrown tissue.  There is probably a dentist in your area with a laser that can help you with this issue!  Lasers are great for this as they cauterize as they work so you get very little bleeding. Best of luck!
