Be patient: Further procedures such as a biopsy or excision of the area would be possible.  However, it's not appropriate to do a procedure which carries a set of risks for a self-limited condition (will go away on its own) and it seems like your doctor feels like that would be too aggressive.  If it doesn't go away in the time frame your doctor said it would, or if it gets worse, check back in.

Most likely it is.: What you are describing most likely is HSV type 1... it is not sexually transmitted, and is present in plenty of people. You can just wait and it will go away. Alternatively you need to let a dermatology look at it, and they may diagnosed it without any lab work.

White patches: This may be a patch of vitiligo which is an autoimmune skin disorder or loss of skin pigmentation from a previous inflammation or injury. A dermatologist would be best qualified to evaluate and advise you.

lip spot: If there is indeed only one spot, you better get this check by dermatologist! this could be a spot which indicates a premalignancy due to sun exposure or even a small skin cancer. We generally call these lesions leukoplakia.

i got white patch on my skin beside my lips 6months back.now it became more whiter.i am applying elosone cream. can i apply that cream?

White spot  needs Dx: Th e white  spot  needs a diagnosis. Was it there  before you used the elosone cream? What is the correct  spelling of elosone? Dose it have  steroids in it. This can cause  whitening of the skin. You need to have your physician send you to a dermatologist.

Lip biting is common: self-inflicted lip trauma is a complication of dental treatment involving local anesthesia. You can't feel that you are doing damage to the numb lip. Fortunately, it always heals up within a few days without complications. Take care.

have a white patch on lip for 7 months i bite that spot where it is and for 2 weeks i haven't bit my lip it hasn't gone away should i be worried ?

Leukoplakia : White colored lesions that don&#x27;t go away should be seen by an ENT or oral surgeon. A biopsy is often necessary to evaluate this problem. Overall, this seems pretty minor and you shouldn&#x27;t be too concerned.
