: Xanax should be safe for your eggs and ovulation but you should stop it, if possible, when you are pregnant especially in the first trimester. By Drugs.com: "Risk Summary: Use may be associated with an increased risk of congenital malformations. There are no adequate studies of this drug in pregnant women to inform a drug-related risk".

i have my ovulation within 2 days and we are trying to conceive. i took 0,75 mg xanax today. is is safe to conceive or could this do any harm if i might get pregnant this week? do we need to wait another month?

: The rate of drug loss from your system suggests all the drug would be gone in 2 days. That said, I don't believe the tiny trace of that med would affect any conception if some were present. It takes 2-3 days for the sperm to reach the egg if it is in position. You need to add that transit time to your calculation. I don't consider waiting worthwhile.

: Alprazolam is a fairly harmless drug when used for short time as you have done.
It is not going to stay in your system beyond a couple of days. So you have the freedom to conceive anytime that suits you.
There is no medical contraindication once you are off of it.

Both are sedating: Both Trazodone and Xanax (alprazolam) are sedating (cause sleepiness) but Trazodone is not as habit forming, so you are less likely to become dependent on it.

Safely addictive: Xanax (alprazolam) is safe if one does not use heavy machinery or drive while on it.  It doesnt interact with too many meds.  However, if used chronically, it can worsen or cause very discomforting anxiety, tolerance and withdrawal when stopped.

Benzodiazepine: Xanax (alprazolam) is a benzodiazepine that has a fairly short half-life.  This can increase the risk of addiction to the medication.  There are other benzodiazepines with longer half-lives.  I like those better, if I have to use a benzodiazepine with a patient.  There are risks with this medication that includes addiction , dependence, some have some constipation, over-sedation, and respiratory suppression.

Yes: Because of the short half life and rapid onset, this particular drug is more reinforcing  than the other benzos.  If you are on Xanax (alprazolam) and want to come off, i suggest doing this very slowly...Over at least 6 months to a year and done by someone who has experience in taking people off of xanax (alprazolam).
