Canker : Canker sores can be light colored in the middle encircled by a red ring. They usually hurt.  If you have been sick, it is not uncommon to get canker sores because your immune system is a little weaker than normal.  A cold sore is also called a fever blister.  This is from a form of herpes simplex virus. These sores may pop up if you are physically or emotionally stressed (i.e., you have a fever). They are usually tender. If you have had streph throat recently, the stress to your body could cause cold sores or canker sores  to form. These sores can be on  your lips, gums, inner cheeks, tongue or on the roof of the mouth. Hope your sores resolve quickly.

Gums: The gums next to your teeth should be pink.  As you move further from the tooth crowns the tissue gets more red.  But the only way to find out if everything is OK is to see your Dentist.  Call for an appointment, you'll be glad you did.

It's hard to say why: But I am trying to imagine what you are asking..& i think the reason might be that your gums in between your teeth (called papillae) are receded down, therefore you are involuntarily  suctioning  ur lower lip when your mouth /lips are closed, & since your inner lips /mucosa is movable and moldable,  if fills in those papillary spaces...Just a guess.. But if u see ur dentist he/she can see better.

If not, i suggest you leave it up to one of these professionals for a proper diagnosis.
