For most people: There are some people who don't have the ability to absorb B12 through the gut, causing anemia.  This condition is rare.  Most people absorb it just fine, making injections unnecessary.  Unless you've been diagnosed with pernicious anemia you shouldn't have a problem taking oral b12.

Like all vitamins, they are widely available in most foods; why we have not maintained typically just 1 gene needed for a single protein enzyme to make them out of whatever we eat.

An extract of apricot pits, sold as laetrile, was the most lucrative of all phony cancer remedies and despite the whole business having gone to the supreme court, it's still being peddled among "spiritual" and "socially conservative" people. Over 100 people made over a million dollars each off desperate cancer patients. Stay away from these criminals.

B12 injections: Sometimes they also include b1 and b2 among others.  In general, don't feel much different after shot.  Sometimes people say more energy and other times people say sleep better.  B vitamins help the central nervous system so they can cause a lot of changes, particularly if you are deficient.

Only if deficient: If you have a healthy diet you will get sufficent b vitamins, and a shot isn't needed / doesn't really do anything. B6 deficiency can be caused by a very limited diet (happens in alcoholism) and B12 deficiency can occur with strict vegan diets, or in the condition pernicious anemia. In these cases, injections of b6 or B12 are important part of the treatment.
