my daughter is 4 years. she has a fever of 39.2 and with 7.5ml calpol and 2.5ml nurofen, the fever hasn't dropped. she has a headache and says her throat is sore. is tired. should i be concerned and seek immediate care?

A visit to her Dr.: New throat pain with fever can be from a strep throat infection (antibiotics are needed), a cold or influenza (Tamiflu sometimes used, if diagnosed early enough), or from some other causes. Usually, a person sees her pediatrician if the sore throat is bothersome, recurrent, or doesn't go away quickly (mainly to check to see if antibiotics or Tamiflu are needed).

UTI, kidney stones: The most likely cause is infection. Usually seen with flank pain and polyuria.   However, kidney stones are a common cause of pain. This usually radiates to the groin.  Another possibility could be a muscle strain or spams.  Try hydration, and stretching. If symptoms continue, see your physician for a urine analysis, or ultra sound.

Sounds miserable: You really do owe it to yourself to see a knowledgeable ObGyn.  S/he  would need to examine you thoroughly and possibly do some studies.  Good at least that there is no pain during sex, but any kind of persistent pain and the uncertainty and fear about possible diagnosis can cause sadness and depression!  Good luck to you dear.

It depends!: Kinky vs perverted depends upon your social mores which depends upon your upbringing & current socialization. What's kinky to one person might be perverted to someone else & vice versa. On the other hand, scotus has stated that while they can't define pornography, they know it when they see it. Legally speaking, i believe that kinky is ok while perversion is criminal. Obviously, much more complica.

Genital herpes: Probably this is an initial infection with genital herpes. Bleeding gums probably is unrelated. See a doctor or clinic ASAP for diagnosis and treatment:  started early, an anti-herpes drug (alacyclovir or acyclovir) will greatly speed healing. In your country, new herpes is high risk for new HIV as well; get tested. Your sex partner(s) also need to be checked for herpes and HIV. Good luck!

See a doctor: Many people think they have a pain in the kidney, but it may or may not be the kidney.  There are many things in the abdominal area that cause pain in the same regions.  Need to know more history, type of pain and quality of pain.  If it is the kidney, you may need an ultrasound.

Kidney stones: Treatment depends on how big the stones are and where they are in the steps to passage (from kidney to ureter to bladder) Stones that are too big to pass spontaneously can be broken up with ultrasound (Lithotripsy, also called ESWL). If you have uric acid stones, then taking Allopurinol can prevent new ones.
