Breast or Bottle?: Breast fed babies average feeding every 3 hours, formula fed babies every 3-4. On average a 2 week old will be eating between 1 1/2 to 3 ounces, but I have seen bigger boys eat 8.

Eating from birth!: You are feeding her from birth with either your breast milk (best) or formula(s). You can feed your child that way until your child reaches either (1) double his birth weight; or (2) more than 14 lbs; or, if bottle feeding, (3) more than 32 oz of formula/day. Then you can start feeding "solids".

Not before 1: Infant's should not eat seafood until after their first birthdays. It is one of those food categories like nuts and honey that for various reasons (this being highly allergenic) should not be given before they turn 1 year old.

Unnecessary : 50 years ago infants were fed solids early & frequently to make up for deficiencies in the evaporated milk formulas moms made at home. Today early feeds are an antiquated practice & do not add to the child's nutrition. Today solids are viewed as a tutorial to transition baby to the table. Starting at 6m as the tongue thrust fades & baby begins to sit is early enough.

Many months: As breastfed babies gain weight, they are able to go longer without a feeding. In the first few months, they need to feed more frequently. Babies vary and some will nurse very efficiently and then be able to go longer. Remember that by breastfeeding your baby, you're giving him/her the best possible start in life.

Depends!: This of course depends on the size of your baby and his growth percentiles.  BUT anywhere from 24 to 30 ounces is in the rough ballpark. Be sure and check his growth percentiles at the four month checkup. As long as he is gaining well and satisfied with feedings you are just right!

As much as she wants: Up until the first birthday, solids are not considered food for nutrition but rather learning tools for an infant.  An infant could drink just breast milk bbn or formula without any solids until the first birthday and is totally fine nutritionally.  So solids are how much she/he wants. Some days more, some days less, some days none. Take the cue from the baby each day and you won't go wrong!
