For what problem?: The problem with medical marijuana at least in my state is no regulation or real diagnosis is needed to recieve it, one time visit for licence, then its pick your flavor at the dispenceries. No follow up in many cases. Opiate medications can be problematic as well. Many diagnosis would not require either if properly evaluated. For chronic pain opiates can be a great tool, but not a cure all.

i use medical marijuana for multiple things pain from past injuries and anxiety.  it help with both situations.  i prefer natural medicine to many of the pills typically prescribed.  would you agree that this is okay as medicine?

Contentious: This remains a very hot and difficult topic.  I have seen several patients with great benefit from mm.  I have not written many prescription slips for it, but anecdotally many patients swear by it.  There is not a lot of evidence of toxicity.  I think in the balance it is a good alternative for some.....But legality and politics remain an issue.

Depends: In general, antidepressants known as SSRIs such as Zoloft, Prozac, Celexa, on Lexapro (escitalopram) are always top shelf treatment for either anxiety or depression. One thing to keep in mind is that for anxiety you need more robust doses than for treatment of depression with antidepressants. Anxiety is always more brittle of the two syndromes to treat. Ask your physician about the main and side effects and risks and benefits of these medications.

can you catch bronchitis from smoking medical marijuana? i am prescribed medical marijuana. i just started smoking it a few weeks ago. now i have bronchitis. could the smoking have caused bronchitis?

Studies : Studies have shown that there are a variety of toxins in marijuana. It can vary with the  type of marijuna used.  Marijuana could be associated with your bronchitis.  At least one short term study has shown a relaxing effect of marijuana on the airways.

i've been prescribed pantoprazole for about a month. i am also a medical marijuana patient and wanted to know if i could still consume marijuana while on this medication? would it decrease effectiveness or increase the risk of an overdose?

Not likely: 
Possible interactions:
 MJ use might increase effect of alcohol.
Anticoagulants/anti-platelet drugs, herbs&amp;supplements. These reduce clotting. MJ canchange how the body processes them,  increased risk of bleeding. MJ&amp; CNS depressants mightcause an additive sedative effect.
Protease inhibitor;MJ use with use of these antiviral drugs might reduce their effectiveness.

Possibly: Marijuana will relieve pain in the short term at a cost of intellectual function.  No one knows how long this relief will last.

Medical Use of MJ: It is nearly impossible to overdose with marijuana. It is also nearly impossible to harm yourself with marijuana.  
But, one should use enough of this herb to quell the symptoms...

Common reasons for using marijuana for medical purposes is for nausea and other GI cramping.  It is used to stimulate the hunger mechanism so that one wants to eat when they are ill.

Wrong site: This is a general medical information site. The volunteer physicians who review questions do not prescribe or treat anyone. Medical marijuana is legal in some   US states, but remains illegal under US federal drug law. If you cannot find a practitioner in Australia to prescribe and locate a supply, you are out of luck. Any US physician who tried to do so could lose their license and land in jail.

Chronic pancreatitis: If it's medically indicated a prescription can be written for nutritional supplemental drinks. Not all insurances will cover as it is available "OTC".  As far as the chronic pancreatitis - the only literature I am aware of have found marijuana as a cause for recurrent pancreatitis so I highly doubt it's being used as a treatment (unless as marinol for appetite issues).
