If one of the joints is loose, when the ring encounters the ground force of the sleep surface, the force translates around the ring to the loose joint and thereat stretches the ligaments of this joint.  Stretched ligaments hurt.  In cases of vertebral spine disorders, lying down takes weight off the spine and the person feels better.

This can be caused by abdominal muscle pain from over use; abdominal visceral pain from appendicitis, constipation, gas, ovarian cyst, or tumor; dissecting abdominal aneurysm; a disorder of the lumbar spine; or a bladder infection. Pain from pregnancy: The hormones of pregnancy cause the ligaments in back to relax and stretch with may lead to current back pain and sometimes future chronic lower back pain. The pregnant uterus, also known as the gravid uterus, also puts pressure on the back and pelvic area which can cause the current pelvic and  lowe back pain.

Implanon is not an : IUD.if you have Implanon  ,and no lesion noted ,then perhaps one needs to look at infection or  endometriosis as a cause.If you have an IUD,then the other cause could be partially displaced IUD.

Not normal: Could be endometriosis, if birth control pills are not controlling, this needs evaluation.  Testing/ultrasound/possible laparoscopic surgery, can be helpful in getting this controlled.

They can: Cysts can cause different sorts of pain. They cause pain from their size, from twisting around or fro bursting open. They can cause nausea or GI symptoms as well. So if the pain persists, you should be evaluated for lots of sources

Polyp: A uterine polyp can certainly cause heavy periods. Ask if you are a candidate for a simple minimally invasive procedure called myosure. An ovarian cyst can cause pain.
