PCP or gynecologist: Breast cysts are common. If it does not go away over 3-4 weeks, a breast lump should be evaluated. Cysts can be aspirated and fluid removed with a needle if necessary. A primary care physician or a gynecologist would be most appropriate.

i've a hard/visible lump on the side/back of my rib cage. i've osteoporosis. injured area 3 months ago. intermittent pain. any ideas? will see doc.

X-rays and pain meds: With your history of osteoporosis/Celiac Disease and a injury to the area 3 months ago I would be concerned if you did not have a fracture to the rib cage. You should see your doctor as you suggest and x-rays should be done to confirm the diagnosis. For the intermittent pain, which is likely positional , a heating pad to the area and acetaminophen.

i have a small hard lump at the base of my finger (palm side). i first noticed it two weeks ago and i think it's grown since. should i see a doctor?

Sounds like: A ganglion cyst.  But get it checked to be sure.

Dont: touch it may get infected then u won't have any time to ask when to see a doctor. It is a sebaceous cyst, may fade away if not and if bothersome may get excision.

i believe i have a umbilical hernia. i dont have any pain, but i do feel a lump. is it safe? will it go away. do i have to get operated? what type of doctor do i have to see about it

Can't say: The description is too vague to answer the questions posed. This may/not be a hernia or just a growth of fatty tissue. Proper care if needed would require an exam. Your GP can decide whether or who you need to see about it.

Lump: The question is do you know what a cyst feels like?  If two doctors have examined you and said it is a cyst, what happens when you go to the third and he says it is a cyst?  Do you then go to the fourth?  You either need at some point to believe them or not. If you don't believe them then do you keep going to doctors until you find one that tells you what you want? Get it removed!

Benign cysts: While they are most likely benign cysts, if you have not been to the dentist for a while i would go make sure you do not have a dental sinus.

Yes: Chances are, the bump is some sort of local infection such as a pimple, carbuncle, or ingrown hair.  Is it red and tender?  If it didn't hurt, I'd think it was just one of the spinous processes at the back of the spine jutting out, but that should not hurt. See your doctor.
