Sounds like: A ganglion cyst. But get it checked to be sure.

Maybe: Any redness, swelling or difficulty in moving your finger?? if yes, then see doctor soon (within 48 hours). If not, probably safe to monitor at home for another week or two. Then, if no change still... probably best to get it looked at by a doctor.
