Lots of things: Having lupus, being middle-aged or elderly, lyme disease, or just dumb luck. Some say even pregnancy can do it. Glad it was a false-positive -- syphils is still a real nuisance.

Where is 2nd part?: An appropriate syphilis test involves two stages: the RPR is done first- if positive,  a confirmatory test such as an ' fta-abs' must be done. The 2-stage test is more cost effective and decreases the number of 'false positive'  results. Due to a number of circumstances, the RPR test could be a false positive test. Discuss this important question further with your ordering doctor.

: A negative test after 90 days is conclusive and we do not use this term "conclusive" for a positive RPR at 6 weeks post exposure. So, when a screening test such as RPR is positive after 6 weeks we don't say if the result is conclusive or not but we proceed to the next step for confirming the infection , i.e. TP-PA test should be done.

Syphilis testing: All syphilis is "bad":  it is a very dangerous infection, even if causing no symptoms at this time. However, low positive results might indicate you were treated without knowing it, e.g. if you received certain antibiotics for other infections. Or it might be a false positive test, so confirmatory testing is needed. Discuss w/ your doctor, or best to see an STD or infectious diseases specialist.

Syphilis: Probably not. The RPR is a screening test which is very sensitive but not as specific, so that you can have false-positive results. The TPPA is far more specific and used to detect the RPR positives that are falsely positive.

Very accurate : A treponema antibody test is a very accurate way to detect syphilis. At 4 weeks the test is accurate.

i have tested as below 1. rpr 58 days, 82 days, 105 days. rapid test syphilis at 90 days, 95 days & 105 days . vdrl test 95 days & 105 days all test is negative ? will it turn to positive if i will test at 120 days ? are those test conclusive?
