Get it evaluated: Sounds like a good idea to have someone evaluate the area.  You can get blood to pool in an area of local trauma called a hematoma but blood clots can also form within the veins which are the more concerning type.

Shin pain: If you have pain in your shin is it most likely not a blood clot but it is best to be checked out.

Yes: See your MD for evaluation to make that determination or not. Oral contraceptives do have a higher incidence of blood clots when used.

Yes.: An ultrasound is an appropriate test if they suspect a blood clot in your leg.

Not: necessarily unless you have had a previous clot, are using oral contraceptives, are sedentary, obese or have some type of coagulopathy.  DVT is an elusive diagnosis unless thought about.  Since you are worried a non invasive vascular exam can easily be ordered by your doctor.  No one on this site can say with any degree of certainty that you do or don't with just this information.

: Blood clots in deep veins are not palpable. Good chance it is a hematoma (collection of blood) from the injury which will slowly get smaller and harder and get absorbed. If worried see your doc for exam.

Possibly Serious: A blood clot in a superficial vein is not an emergency.  A blood clot in a deep vein is concerning because the clot can dislodge and travel to the lungs, which can be fatal.  The deep clots, also called dvt's, require monitoring by vascular surgeons who treat the clots with anticoagulation medication and possibly surgical intervention.

Clots in legs: Sometimes they present suddenly . Calf pain and swelling may imply clots. Swelling in one leg could indicate clots. Changes in foot or toe color may be seen. One leg feeling different in hot/cold might indicate an issue. If you are concerned you must seek immediate care.
