About 20 weeks: An us at 20 weeks will usually show the baby's sex(as long at is not shy )  some times a week or two earlier depending on the quality of the machine.

Ultrasound: It depends on the type of ultrasound.  Ultrasound is very accurate in depicting many types of abnormalities.  Since there is no ionizing radiation involved, and it is relatively quick and inexpensive, it is often the first imaging study performed.

No.: At 12 weeks, the estimated accuracy of ultrasound measurements (crown-rump length or crl) is +/- 7 days. Take Folic Acid 1-5 mg daily and best of luck!

Yes it can be: normal - you may have been fertilized right before your menstrual period in June was due - so that would put the conception 5-6 weeks ago. Yes: Every quantitative test result is always given as something plus or minus something else. It is a false idea to tell you that the test tells you the fetus is 7 weeks 4 days 9 hours 23 minutes and 17.47 seconds along now. It is just an approximation and usually the best they can call it is within a range of plus or minus 2 weeks (14 days)!!

i have had 2 ultrasound scans that show my edd as 9th january and 7th january respectively. it doesn't tally at all with my lmp. a lot of weeks off. about 6-8 weeks?

Accurate estimates: Ultrasound dating scans in the first trimester, such as at 8-11 weeks of pregnancy, are very accurate... meaning plus or minus one week. Especially if the doctor feels the fetus is growing appropriately for gestational age through the course of the pregnancy, the ultrasound dating estimates are likely very good. That means use the ultrasound dating instead of the non-matching LMP dating.

: Your are correct, the change of left kidney is quite significant but I wonder what the reason why this US monitoring has been done. If you had any problem of the left kidney before 12/2020 (infection, obstruction due to stone, etc.), the change means scarred left kidney (atrophic) and the damage is irreversible.

in regards to1st question i smoke excessively& my other child before this 1was always smaller then he should have been at ultrasounds because of it. could this have caused baby to show up a bit smaller then he/she should have& a week or two behind?
