Medicine in milk: Coricidin HBP is a combination medication for patients with high blood pressure. There are many variations that go by this name including some that contain a medication called Chlorpheniramine which may pass through the breast milk causing the infant to be drowsy. Paracetamol (also known as Acetaminophen or Tylenol) is a safe alternative for fever control while breast feeding.

Reducing fever: Yes.  You may take tylenol (acetaminophen) or Motrin for fever while breastfeeding.  You also want to remember to wash you hands thoroughly before and after nursing to try to reduce your baby from exposure.  Consider seeing your own doctor if fever persists.

Some thoughts: This is an aspirin based product. In general it is considered safe during breast feeding but avoided during late pregnancy. It is poorly absorbed into breast milk &amp; minimal will cross. High maternal doses can cause problems in the infant but low doses do not. I would suggest an acetaminophen based product.

Tylenol/Ibuprofen: She can take tylenol (acetaminophen) or Ibuprofen for her fever. She can also take homeopathic belladonna. Elderberry and vit d can help if she has flu like symptoms as well. Drink plenty of fluids, chicken soup...And the baby will be fine as her milk will pass on antibodies to protect the child.

Depends: The general rule is if i would use it for a baby it is ok for use in a breast feeding mother. We exclude sulfa drugs in the first 2 months and drugs like Cipro (ciprofloxacin) that are not generally used in childhood.Just tell the doc you are breastfeeding and they should sort that out, or ask again when you know which one is being considered.

how long i can still take cerrazette pill(opp suitable for breast feeding mothers) and now i stopped breast feeding 3months ago?

Minipill use: It is preferred if you use a Progesterone only minipill for contraception that you are breast feeding every 2-4 hours to maintain its effectiveness.  If not, then switch to a combination ocp for best protection frm pregnancy if you are able to use this .  If you cannot use a combination ocp, then the Progesterone only pill is ok combined with backup contraception such as condoms.

my 5 months old baby is vommitting for two days without any fever....what can i do to ensure she doesn't get dehydration?  another thing is she alwaya vommits after breast feeding but if i give her the artificial milk she doesn't vommit...why?

See MD: Your baby may have a type of obstruction called pyloric stenosis, but those babaies usually spit up everything.  It may be a stomach virus, but again, those babies usually are more likely to vomit up formula as compared to breast milk.  Talk to your md.

Mastitis: Painful hard masses in breast after breastfeeding may be mastitis or early abscesses.  Okay to continue breastfeeding as this will help to drain breasts.  Need to follow up with doctor if fever develops or masses enlarge.
