i have had a cough that leads to short of breath for 2months vomiting headache nausea dizziness swoll lymphnod etc what can be the cause of this cough?

Complex: This one is too complex for an e-mail answer. Likely you have post inflammatory bronchitis and may need a combination of, singulair, (montelukast) advair (these are my preferred drugs of choice), possibly half dose Medrol dose pack, + 100 % (100%) no dairy. www.thepmc.org.

so this happens randomly . feels like a kick in the chest it takes my breath . feels like my heart is trying to stop. literally makes me gasp for air . some times its just one or 3 in a row kinda feels like my heart is spasming.what is it?

: These may be premature heart beats ( extrasystoles) causing palpitations. They don't cause pain but can produce those symptoms you're experiencing. Wearing a heart monitor for 48 hours or longer will demonstrate extrasystoles&amp;determine the type,their frequency,significance&amp; whether they coincide with your symptoms as you'll note on the diary when you experience symptoms. flu for 4 days. developed a chronic cough.  i can not take normal  or deep breath without triggering coughing spasms.  will pro air hfa help?

It may: Often there is inflammation in the airways contributing to cough and associated bronchospasm. Proair is a bronchodilator which may reduce coughing. Also consider a steroid inhaler to deal with the inflammation.

Uncontrolled asthma: It looks like your asthma is not controlled. Peak flow is useful only when comparing to your best number. A lung function test would give more information. You should come back and check with your physician.

i received a diagnosis of stenosis of the c4. i have episodes of "trying to catch my breath". is this related? how about throat spasm and cough?

Likely...: The phrenic nerve (which gives motor output to the diaphragm muscle--which controls breathing) gets significant contributions from C4. Talk to a neurosurgeon about strategies to relieve stenosis at C4.

Bronchitis: Or possibly pneumonia. It's also possible it's a virus like a cold, but given the severity of the cough you should get checked by a doctor ASAP.  They may want to do blood tests and a chest x-Ray and you may need antibiotics.

Possibly: Shortness of breath is seen with many problems but always needs a prompt medical evaluation. It is difficult to say how serious a problem without additional information and this needs to be evaluated by your doctor.
