Probably impossible: There are many different bugs that can bite you if you are continuing to get bites then you need to see your dermatologist. If you do see a bug you should try to save it and bring it in with you so it can be analyzed to tell what type it is.

You : You could be dealing with an allergic reaction, scabies, bed bugs(mites) etc. It is difficult to say. Has your boyfriend experienced symptoms as of now? If so then you will both need treatment. If possible see your doctor for an evaluation. In the meantime wash your sheets in very hot water, clean all rugs, etc. If you are unable to see a doctor you can try over the counter Elimite (permethrin) cream, it won't hurt if it is not scabies. In additon benadry for itching. The best thing is to seek medical care for appropriate diagnosis and treatment.

Staph versus bed bug: Bed bug bites are red bumps, but they don't usually have pus in them. They look more like a hive or mosquito bite than an infected boil. When pus is present in a skin lesion, i tend to think about staph infections. Those are common lately and seem to start anywhere they like. Fire ant bites can have pus in them, but they are sterile; it's due to the venom's damage. See your doctor for diagnosis.

Ointments...: There are some fine topical otc ointments you can use - mild Hydrocortisone or Benadryl (diphenhydramine) ointments that are fine for short periods of time in babies.  Using a cool pack on the area can also help decrease itch.  Good luck!

However, they can lead to excessive scratching that can lead to a secondary  skin infection. The streak could mean you have, possibly in your sleep, scratched and now may have a skin infection.
