In that meeting, your doctor will listen to you, perform a throrough examination and possibly order labs or other tests. Based on this information, he/she will be able to tell you what's wrong and what to do about it.

NO: Only clots within your circulatory system cause problem. No problem expected with menses, nose bleed, hemorrhoid, cuts, etc.

my cardio said my right side heart is enlarged over blood clots in lungs, legs sends me home 2 cal & get exray. shouldn't i b  hospitalized?

It depends: Depending on your symptoms and whether your doctor thinks this an acute event or a chronic event. If you having symptoms of acute (happened suddenly) blood clots in your legs and your lungs, you should be started on blood thinners. Dont't be affraid to ask questions be honest with your dr., ask him/her to explain their thought process.

costochondritis for a month.have had heart,lungs and blood clots ruled out.on motrin and ativan (lorazepam).been having weird head pains for a week is it the meds?

Motrin: Yes. Sometimes antiinflammatories can cause these side effects.  Make sure you are taking the correct dose and check with your doctor.  You may have to change this medication.

Patients with: Clot in the leg are at risk for migration to the lung.  This is the main risk of the clot in the leg.  The next downstream location is the lung, but not the heart.

Could happen: Meth users are more at risk for the illnesses you mentioned, but the same diseases do occur in people who do not do meth.

i have been to er, ekg was normal, blood work was good. no signs of damage to heart or blood clots. i still am having waves of chest heaviness, burning, and more recently having a hard time catching my breath after a flight of stairs. what is this??

Anxiety shows itself: In may ways.  Once can mentally obsess over things that frighten the person or do behaviors to keep danger away, e.g., ritual behaviors, checking and re-checking.  Physically there can be heart palpitations, shortness of breath, sweating, sleeplessness, etc.  Please go to a mental health professional for support if you think you have an anxiety disorder.

when active/climbing a set of stairs (6-8 steps average) or walking around apartment my heart starts racing (100-109). i get small ache/pressure in left chest heart area. reason??? no blood clots on thinners in regular range. blood pressure normal?

: I have difficulty understanding the last part of your question. If you have chest pain consistently with activity, especially with associated risk factors( raised lipids, family history) you need evaluation by a cardiologist. Your heart rate with activity may in part be due to anxiety. Very important to discuss with your doctor.

Not always: Pulmonary emboli (blood clots that travel to the lungs) vary greatly in size from patient to patient; some are trivial, others are rapidly fatal, and there are all sorts of outcomes in between.  They are usually a serious problem and need prompt and effective treatment, and diagnosis as to where they come from, so that can also be treated.  Anticoagulants ("blood thinners") are usually prescribed.
