Cold Urticaria: Cold urticaria or sensitivity to wool can be a cause of your symptoms.  These symptoms maybe treated with H1antihistamines (cetirizine etc) and H2 antihistamines (Zantac).  Severe symptoms maybe need steroid treatment.  Anti inflammatory diet may help as well.  See your doctor for appropriate treatment.

: If objective, the bite reaction is an allergic response to what was injected by the bite. The symptoms and signs on the skin may be the same but if you had not had a bite then it is allergic response to a non bite chemicals that is foreign to your skin.

Yes, usually: Urticaria or hives can present in interesting ways.  Typically the skin lesion are raised red, well circumscribed, and very itchy.  The size of the wheal (raised part) may be minimal to a few mm or widespread over most of the body.  Itching is even variable--some minimal and some very severe.  Most will wax and wane over hours; some (more serious ones) may persist for days.
